
Uganda’s prime minister Amama Mbabazi, has boosted the national team the Cranes with a cash offer of $10,000(Sh28.6 million) ahead of their key Group J qualifier with Harambee Stars this Saturday at Mandela stadium.
The Prime Minister paid a courtesy call on the national team at today’s morning training at the stadium and assured government’s support to the players and the team.
“You must win this game at all costs,” Mbabazi told the attentive players. “We want you to make history the last time we where at the Africa Cup of Nations was in 1978 and we want you to reach the finals for the first time in 33 years.”
The cash boost comes in the wake of several pledges that include one by the speaker of parliament Rebecca Kadaga, who offered 10 millions shillings to the players others include Soroti Municipality member of parliament Captain Mike Mukula, who has offer 1 million for each goal while Sports Betting Africa has offered one million for the first goal scored.
