Crested Cranes Ready as DR Congo jet in

In a bid to face DR Congo in a mouthwatering African Women’s Championship qualifier, the Crested Cranes are concluding their preparations at Kavumba Reacreational Centre in Wakiso. According to the team manager, Mariam Kaliga and FUFA official

incharge of women’s football, Meddie Serwadda, everything is moving on well.

The camp is in good mood with everything in good state. “The girls are okay and look set for the weekend encounter” Majidah Nantanda, the head coach told Kawowo Sports.

“Let me take this opportunity to urge all Ugandans especially the ladies to come and watch the new brand of women’s football” said Majidah. “Even the gentlemen should pay us back for supporting them by coming to Nakivubo on Saturday” added the head coach.

She is technically being assisted by a sports scientist from USA, Lisa Berg. Former U20 national men’s coach Edward Kaziba and national team goalkeeper Daniel Kiwanuka are giving a hand in the team’s preparations. Only two squad players had minor illnesses according to team doctor, Beatrice Maloni.

Meanwhile, the DR Congo jet in the country this evening using the Kenya airways at 7:00pm. They will rest in Sajovaro hotel in Rubaga and will train in Wankulukuku before using the Nakivubo stadium says Meddie Serwadda.
