Only prophets can predict what the future holds according to Holy Books but the world over, man has always made predictions about happenings in this changing world. Some of these predictions come to pass while others turns out to be the opposite. Predicting the future can make you an expert or a laughing stock.
Who doesn’t remember when the then Prime minister of Uganda Apollo Nsibambi warned Ugandans about a long drought season for some parts of last year only for the nation to recieve rains through out that period.
Interestingly, Brazilian soccer legend Pele has never gotten a soccer prediction right prompting analysts to state that whoever wants to get a perfect prediction in soccer circles, just predict the opposite of what Pele has predicted.
Nevertheless, predictions will never end till the world comes to an end. To cut the story short, below are my predictions for the soccer season in the Bell super league round two.
CHAMPIONS: URA, Bunamwaya and Express will continue to be the teams likely to win the championship like it did happen in the first round but i see URA F.C beating the rest to the championship. I base this on the experience and quality of the squad at Alex Isabirye’s disposal.
GOLDEN BOOT WINNER: This will go down to the wire as many strikers have shown the desire to top the goal scoring charts in the first round. Julius Ogwang (Express), Abege George (Maroons), Luzige Edgar (Bunamwaya) will all give it a go but i expect URA’s Robert Ssentongo to beat them to the boot. Not that he is exeptional but the level of supply he gets from his midfielders is first class as compared to his competitors.
UTODA, POLICE AND FIRE MASTERS TO BE RELEGATED. At the beginning of the season, i predicted that Utoda will be relegated and i still insist it won’t survive the drop. However, since its three teams to be dropped, i see Fire Masters and Police F.C also joining Utoda. The Fire Men and the cops have not shown the consistency and desire of a team worth surviving relegation. However, don’t be surprised if Victors and Simba – other two giant killers join the big league if Police and Fire masters put up a strong resistance in the second round.
URA TO LOSE THEIR UN BEATEN RUN AT LUGAZI. The tax collectors have never lost a league game at their fortress ever since Lugazi became their home ground last season. The closest they came to losing was when they came from a goal down to beat KCC F.C 2-1 this season. Despite such a merverllous record, i predict they will suffer a loss at the stadium this season in the second round.
