Why USL expelled Proline and Bunamwaya from the league

In what appears to be escalated battle lines drawn, the Uganda Super League have expelled Proline F.C and Bunamwaya F.C for alleged disregard of USL activities, failure to honor matches and defaming the company.

A statement released by the league head of communications – James Ssekandi shows that “at a board meeting on 1/1/2012, the Uganda Super League (USL) Limited board of directors resolved that Bunamwaya SC and Proline FC be expelled, their results be expunged and fixtures be withdrawn.”

This comes at a time when FUFA and the USL have recently been engaged in clashes that have seen FUFA threaten to start a parallel league after the league bosses were banned earlier.

According the release, USL evoked:

(1) FIFA disciplinary code (2011 edition) Article 56 (unplayed match and abandonment) Section 2, applying Article 12, Section F and (2) USL Rules Section B (The League), Part – Expulsion of a member.

We are yet to hear from the two affected clubs regarding their response to this new development.

Do you think USL has made the right move in expelling these two teams?
