While many are celebrating Valentines today all over the world, Ugandan Badminton player Edwin Ekiring is flying to Iran ahead of the Fajr International Challenge from February 16-19.
Early this week Ekiring dropped from the top 100 in the world which shattered his hopes of taking part in the summer London Olympics. Ekiring has to at least reach the finals of the Iran international to gain points which will see him in the top 100 again.
He also has a target of reaching 2 semi finals of international tournaments to seal his Olympic qualification. But to achieve that feat Ekiring has to first get back into the top 100 until April 31. 15,000 USD has been staked as price money for whoever wins the Iran international.
