USL board to meet clubs over player strike

The Uganda super league board will meet all Super league clubs at Sheraton Kampala Hotel on monday afternoon to discuss the going strike of league players. The board has shown concern about the four games out of the possible eight that weren’t played on Friday and Saturday this week.

Games between Simba F.C and Express F.C on Friday and Proline and Water on Saturday were also abandoned after Simba F.C & Water F.C suffered injuries which couldn’t allow the games to continue.

Ugandan footballers under their umbrella body Uganda Footballer’s Association (UFA) are demanding better treatment from their bosses. They are tired of being offered dubious contracts and delaying their salaries.

The footballers have been striking since Friday and until their cries are heard, they don’t plan to stop, according to their union chairman Dan Walusimbi.
