Bell Uganda Super League returns after player strike

After a two weeks of no action on the various pitches countrywide the Bell Uganda Super League returns on March 23 with three rescheduled fixtures that will see SC Villa and KCC FC in the mix.

Villa has an away tie against modest side Maroons FC the two sides battled to a goalless draw in the first round. The two clubs share the same number of points on the log that is 25 Villa lies in ninth position while Maroons is in seventh position.

Fourth placed KCC FC takes on Bidco FC its the first time that the two are meeting. KCC is on a four game winning streak

under care-taker coach Morley Byekwaso.

Proline Football Club takes on army side Simba FC and will be seeking revenge after losing their first round encounter with the soldiers at their barracks in Bombo.

The league was disrupted by a player strike two weeks ago and Uganda Super League had to postpone this week’s schedule to give them time to meet the Uganda Footballers Association to avert another sit down by the players. USL had sought for special transfer window to enable clubs sign players to replace those that had gone on strike.

Third placed Express FC will host hapless Utoda FC at the Mutesa II stadium, Wankulukuku next Saturday.

The Red Eagles will be vying for a double over the relegation battling side having beaten them 5-2 in the first round. Victors FC entertains Bunamwaya SC while Hoima/Busia FC will host Masaka LC on the same Saturday.

USL will only affirm a mini transfer window if a club proves that it needs an emergency to recruit new players.
