Quarter final berth at Stake for SC Villa in Bell Uganda cup

In what is expected to be an entertaining duel in Bell Uganda Cup, SC. Villa host big league side Mbarara Old Timers in the round of 16 at Nakivubo War Memorial stadium today. Mike Mutebi’s side managed to beat another league side Ndejje University 3-0 to reach the stage.

However, it won’t be an easy game as Old Timers are

a tough side and sit on top of the big league Elgon group with 25 points. With the super league out of hand, the Bell Uganda Cup remains the only source of silver ware for the blues and are expected to come all guns blazing.

Experienced defender Gassana Phillip and midfielder Moses Ndaula return from injury and are expected to play a part in tomorrow’s game. Bengo Steven, Wasswa Herman and Musamali Paul are expected to lead the hunt for goals.

The visitors’ confidence was bouyed by a 2-1 win over Jinja Municipal in a big league match played on Thursday. Whether their quest for super league qualification won’t disrupt their attention for the cup tie remains to be seen. The match is to kick off at exactly 4:00pm.
