
Geofrey Soro poured in game high 26 points and pulled down 18 rebounds off the bench as Ndejje University Angels beat new comers Rez Life 81-53 on yesterday evenning at YMCA.
The University side led the first quarter by 3 and did not trail the rest of the game. Chaka Jeje scored 14 points and grabbed 15 rebounds for Angels (1-0) and Chris Biko chipped in with 15 points. Davis Apuuli’s double-double (13 points & 16 rebounds) for Lez Life (0-1) was in a losing effort.
Meanwhile in the womens game last season’s playoff visitors Magic Stormers handed new entrants Nkumba Lady Marines a 76-32 loss as stormer Rukia Meeme picked up a triple double – 18 points, 12 rebounds & 10 steals. Sharon Kakunda scored 19 points for Stormers (1-0) and Carol Nyafono added 15 points & 19 rebounds. No Lady Marines (0-1) player scored in double digits. Esther Marion led with 7 points and Constance Nakayenze picked up 6 points.
