Police FC host troubled SC Villa

Kick Off 4.00pm at Namboole, Live on SS9, EAST.

Relegation threatened Police FC will look to Jimmy Kakembo and Ssemazzi Arthur when they host troubled SC.Villa at Namboole Stadium tomorrow.

Angelo Lonyensi’s side are still seated in the relegation zone with merely 18 points and lie 14th on the 16 team log. They have drawn twice, lost once and won twice in their previous five league games. Their major problem is scoring goals.

Apart from Jimmy Kakembo, none of the strikers has had the mantle to lift the cops. Experienced defender Siraje Ssevume will

have to be at his best to thwart Villa attacks while Nanik Muzamir will run the show in midfield.

Mike Mutebi is poised to start inspirational skipper Bengo Steven after he started on the bench in the aborted quarter finals clash due to typhoid. This may relegate either of Herman Wasswa or Muwadda Mawejje or both to the bench. Mulindwa Muwonge may retain the custodian role as Luyima Sulaiti had a night mare of a game URA FC on Tuesday.

Misi Katende may replace Denis Okoth at right back while Ayub Kisaliita and Kasadha Lawrence are poised to start at the heart of defence with Isaac Muleme at left back. Kirabira Isaac, Ndaula Moses and Ssembatya are expected in Villa’s three man midfield with Bengo Steven, Muganga Ronald and Ssemakula Noah in the attack.

With no chance of silver ware this season after unceremoniously exiting the Bell Uganda Cup at the hands of URA FC, the Villa Park side’s only aim is to finish in a decent position in the league.

They currently lie 8th on the table with 28 points and a win tomorrow may push them to 6th or 7th if the game between Proline provides no winner. Mike Mutebi’s side have not lost a league game ever since that humiliating defeat to Bunamwaya SC on the 17th of February. Between that period, they have collected 10 points out of a possible 12 drawing just once and winning three times.

The reverse fixture ended in a goal less stalemate at the same venue. They go into the game as favorites but it won’t be easy against a Police side that is fighting for their life.
