Andy Mwesigwa scores for FC Ordabassy

Uganda Cranes captain, Andrew Mwesigwa scored the second goal for his team in an emphatic 4-1 win over last year’s league runners up FC Zhetysu. The no-nonsense defender who helped his team win the Kazakhstan Super Cup in March this year is enjoying a fine vein of form that will definitely put a smile in Bobby Williamson’s face.

Mwesigwa reckons they have had a great start to the season.  “We started excellent this season. After winning Cup last year, we take one more trophy, Super Cup of Kazakhstan. In championship we are still not defeated.” Said Mwesigwa. With

three wins and two draws, Andrew scored the second goal from a corner kick giving FC Ordabassy the confidence to go ahead and run over their opponents.

Andrew and his agent also revealed that there are plans to recruit another Ugandan to play for FC Ordabasy.  “I adapt myself, everything is great here, people like me very much. I know that President of the club spoke with my agent, Maric Darko, to bring minimum one more Ugandan player to FC Ordabassy.” Mwesigwa added.

The captain of Uganda’s national team has now set his eyes on European football and looks forward to doing exactly what Ibrahim Sekagya at Red Bull Salzburg and David Obua at Hearts have done. “Qualifications for Europe league begin in end of June, and we will try to get as far as possible. Regarding championship our plan is to finish in first three positions, and to get again ticket for Europe.” elaborated Mwesigwa.
