HOSTS LOOKING TO OVER TURN THE DEFICIT. FRI 27th/04/12 MASAKA RG KICK OFF: 4.00pm.
Masaka LC host league Champions URA FC in the return leg of the Bell Uganda Cup semi-finals at fortress Masaka Recreation Ground hoping to over turn a two goal deficit suffered in the first leg at Lugazi.
Hamis Kitagenda and Sula Bagaala struck for URA FC then and the Tax men have an advantage going into the second leg but must not forget that the last time they visited Masaka LC, they lost by a similar margin in the
league. Alex Isabirye’s side only need a draw or at worst lose by one goal to advance to the Pece finals.
On the other hand, Masaka LC need to score three unanswered goals to directly qualify for their first ever finals or score at least twice to take the game to extra time and probably to penalties.
MASAKA LC TEAM NEWS:
Coach Kefa Kisala will continue to miss the services of his leading scorer Kyambadde Rashid but Kasolo Moustapha who scored against URA FC in the 2-0 league defeat will deputise. Midfielders Ssekitoleko Mike and Kaweesa Robert are also out injured. Lugemwa Steven is expected to fill in for Kaweesa. Good news is the return of midfield maestro Kasekende Joseph after missing the first leg due to suspension.
MAN TO WATCH: In the absence of Kyambadde, experienced striker Kigozi Ismail is likely to be the man that holds the key to unlocking the visitors’ rear guard and maybe net the important goals needed to advance.
PROBABLE LINE UP: Katongole (gk), Ssebuliba, Hiire, Kiweewa, Lukungu (cpt), Lugemwa, Kasekende, Kivumbi, Oyirowth, Kigozi and Kasolo.
URA FC TEAM NEWS: Coach Alex Isabirye will be with out home boys Kayizzi Vicent (injury) and Sam Ssenkomi who is set to travel with the Hippos to Kenya for a friendly game. Benson Ociti (malaria) and Said Kyeyune (national duty) will also miss the tie.
MAN TO WATCH: Manko Kaweesa is the man URA FC must consider as key in this match. Masaka LC must be aware of the threat he posses especially with his tireless runs and long distance shots.
PROBABLE LINE UP: Owiny (gk), Masaba, Ssempiira, Mubiru, Munaaba, Agaba, Manko, Nsumba, Bagaala, Ssentongo and Kitagenda.
PREDICTION: Masaka LC has to attack since they will have no reason to sit back. On the other hand, URA FC may sit back and wait to catch the home side on the break. Masaka LC have the ability to score but the question remains, can they defend for 90 minutes? I see a score draw. MASAKA LC 1-1 URA FC. what is your prediction?
