The race to qualify for the Big League gained rapid momentum this weekend with Kampala regional league leaders Bright Stars thumping City Lads 5-0 to maintain its lead over close rivals Kibuli.
The Kawempe based side rolled over City Lads with Hussein Mayanja and Hassan Kikooyo scoring a brace each while Geoffrey Kawere netted the opener as early as the fifth minute of the game.
Bright stars have gone to 52 points with six games left. Kibuli is second on 49, Kamwokya 48, Sadoline 47, Bazaar 45 points. Kibuli, Sadolin and Bazaar each has a game in hand.
Makindye Cubs is bottom with 24 points from 27 games so far.
