In preparations to have commendable results at the ICC U-19 Africa cricket tournament set for later this year, Uganda Cricket Association organized teams to take part in cricket sessions. Kololo SS’ Janet Mbabazi poised 51 off 34 that spurred Amazons select side to a seven wicket win over Stars on yesterday afternoon at Lugogo in the tourney buildup.

Stars, with the help of Rebecca Mukashema (19/15) and Evelyn Anyipo (11/12) had set 96 for a six wicket loss, with 36 bowling extras but Amazons brawled back to claim victory. According to Franklyn Najjumba, UCA official in charge of women’s cricket, the top body is impressed with the level of the game the girls are exhibiting and a keen eye will be kept on Mbabazi, Gertrude Chandiru (Kololo SS), Charity’s Saidat Komugisha who picked two wickets for Stars.
