Water FC will have to start the new season without influential skipper Nyanzi Makumbi after the forward finally completed a move to Kenyan giants Tusker FC. Nyanzi who has been one of the best performers for Charles Ayiekho’s side has penned a two and half year deal with the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) side. Details of his transfer fees were undisclosed but Water FC coach confirmed the reports and wished him well. “He is a great lad and will be missed but we wish him the best at his new club”, said Ayiekho. Tusker FC Coach Sammy Pamzo Omollo was delighted with the new signing and has alot of confidence the Uganda import will deliver the goods. “Nyanzi is a complete player who will help us in the second round of the league. He is experienced since he was a first team player at Water FC and i believe he’ll adapt quickly”, said Omollo. In related developments, the club is also on the verge of signing another Ugandan youngster Allan Katerega from Sports Club Victoria University FC. The lad is due to fly to Kenya tomorrow for negotiations with the club but reports from Tusker FC show that Coach Omollo is eagerly awaiting the player’s signature. “Katerega is a very good player whom we wish to add to our squad. We waiting for him on Friday (tomorrow) for negotiations and i hope everything will go well”, he concluded.
