Uganda 71/8 Kenya 67/6

Kenya’s women national team may have come out to play it’s best cricket but team Uganda continued to dictate proceedings at the ongoing 1-week Kenya tour.

Uganda, the Africa T20 champions defeated the visitors by eight wickets at Kyambogo oval oval yesterday.

Captained by Barbara Mukankusi, they set 71 runs for an eight wicket loss in 18.3 overs with Gloria Adubu (not out) and Scovia Akello stroking 15 runs apiece.

Kenyan bowlers Pearlyne Omamo (4/20) and Mako Wako (3/16) shared seven wickets.

Omamo returned with 35 runs but her effort was rendered useless after Ugandan bowlers Concy Aweko (2/11) and Franklyn Najjumba (2/12) halted at 67 runs after batting the allotted 20 overs.

The sides resume action today with two T20 over games at Lugogo oval.
