Uganda Cranes striker Brian Umony is on the verge of completing a move back to his former club KCC FC according to reliable sources.

The striker left KCC FC for paid ranks in South Africa with Supersport United in 2008 but failed to dislodge first choice striker Anthony Laffour. This forced the club to loan him to Portland Timbers in United States of America but later transfered to Vietnam where he also failed to command a starting berth.

Umony was an integral part of the 2007/08 KCC FC

squad that won the league title and also performed well on the continent with the highlight of that season being the elimination of Supersport United.

In case the deal is completed, the former Kyambogo University student will re-unite with Coach George Best Nsimbe with whom he worked with at the Lugogo based side.

It is also rumoured that new super league sides Sports Club Victoria University and Kiira Young FC were also interested in signing the striker but he prefers a move to his former employees.

If he signs, Umony will add to a list of players who have returned from foreign based countries to ply their trade in the local league. These are Joseph Nestroy Kizito (Serbia – SCVU), Ibrahim Saddam Juma Owen Kasule (Vietnam – URA FC) and Yuda Mugalu (DR. Congo – KCC FC).
