Pool players will be swimming on their tables as the Pool Association of Uganda has landed a 200 million sponsorship deal from Pilsner Lager for their league which will now be called the Pilsner League of Kings.
The deal was unveiled this morning at the Steak Out by the association’s chairman Farouk Kisuze and marketing manager of the brand Caroline Kalule.
The sponsor will take care of the logistical requirements and ensure smooth running of the league.
The National Pool League has been without a sponsor since the end of its partnership with Samona.
The Pilsner League of Kings has two men’s divisions and one ladies division. Sixtteen clubs are participating in the Men’s Division 1 while 13 clubs participate in the men’s division 2. Nineteen teams play in the ladies pool league.
At the end of every season, the association shall relegate the worst performing four teams in the senior pool league and promote the best four teams from Pool League One. The winning clubs in each division will win a trophy and cash prizes.
