
The search for a Luganda football commentator on DStv sports channel SuperSport will finally end today when the winners will be announced at the Golf Course Hotel in Kampala on Thrsday.
Over 900 contestants did auditions at Masaka’s Brovad Hotel and Lugogo Arena in Kampala and the best are yet to be revealed. Prospective commentators
entered a booth where they commentated to a 60-second clip of a Super League match.
The search was open to all Ugandans, male and female, aged 18 and above. They had be fluent in Luganda, a local dialect, and command a vast knowledge of the Super League, according to Japheth Akhulia, the Marketing manager of SuperSport East Africa.
Judges included Mark Ssali, also SuperSport’s commentator, Ruben Luyombo, Super FM’s football analyst, Aisha Nassanga, the sports voice on Uganda’s Capital FM as well as Bukedde TV Sports show host Innocent Tegusulwa.
