Former Proline FC head Coach, Abdallah Mubiru has reacted to the statement released by club management over the two parties parting ways insisting that there was no mutual agreement over the issue. This comes after a press release from the club on Saturday informing the media that the club and their head coach had parted ways under a mutual agreement.
“There was no mutual agreement”, said Mubiru. “I just received a phone call from the club on Saturday morning that I have been sacked over non-footballing issues”, Mubiru told Kawowo Sports in an exclusive interview. When asked which non-footballing reasons led to this, Mubiru insisted that he doesn’t know them and asked the club to make them known to him and the public. “I can’t tell why. Maybe the management is in a better position to explain them because it’s just what I was told”.
The Hippos assistant coach however later reiterated to Kawowo sports that he had always disagreed with management over technical issues since some members of the board have always encroached on his work. “They always told me I disrespect the board which is amazing. There is a certain player they want me to play regardless of his form which is unprofessional since I was doing my work”, said Mubiru before adding that the said player has so far featured in three games in which Proline has only won one.
On his sacking, Mubiru said that coaching is job where the word sacked is expected as long as your bosses are not satisfied over any issues but said was shocked since he thought he was doing a good job on the field. “In coaching, you can be sacked any time if the bosses are not satisfied. It’s normal and happens in football though shocking if results are coming your way”.
“I will leave a happy man because I feel I have done a good job at the club. I think Proline FC plays the most entertaining game in the FSL and it’s no accident that it’s on top of the log. “I thank my players and board for the time we have had ties and wish them the best in future”, he concluded.
Mubiru joined Proline FC in the middle of last season and guided the club to sixth position finish which was their best league finish ever and the club currently tops the FSL log on eight points from five games played so far.
