Uganda Cranes striker Hamis Diego Kiiza scored one and created the other as Yanga FC beat money bags Azam FC 2-0 in a Vodacom Premier League game played Sunday afternoon at the National stadium Dar es Salam.

The former Nalubaale FC and URA FC striker set up Burundian forward Didier Kavumbagu for the opening goal of the match in the 8th minute before putting the icing on the cake with a second goal in the 69th minute to put the game to bed.

The goal was his fourth of the season in the Tanzanian league.

Kiiza has enjoyed a good spell in Tanzania at Yanga FC and has been scoring goals for fun. Mid this year, the diminutive forward helped the side lift the Cecafa club Championship, their second on the trot.

The win lifts Yanga FC to top position on the 14 team table on with 24 points from 12 games played just one above second placed Simba SC which has also played 12 games.

Meanwhile, another Ugandan forward Emmanuel Okwi was on the receiving end as his side Simba SC lost to Mtiibwa Sugar FC 2-0 in a league game played at Manungu Stadium.
