Tusker FC Vs Western Stima FC – Moi International Stadium
Daniel ‘Mzee’ Sserunkuma and Gor Mahia FC will only have one thing on mind when they take on Muhoroni Youth FC in the Kenya Premier League match on Sunday afternoon, recapturing top spot.
The side go into the game in second position on 56 points one behind rivals AFC Leopards who beat Mathare United 4-2 in the match played yesterday to assume table leadership for at least 24 hours.
Gor Mahia Coach Logarusic welcomes back Kenyan international Ramah Salim from suspension and the striker is expected to partner Sserunkuma up front in search for goals. The duo has formed a deadly striking combo that accounts for most of Gor’s goals this season.
Salim missed last week’s 1-0 victory over champions Tusker FC which was decided by Sserunkuma’s solitary strike to give K’ogalo hope of winning the league title they last won in 1995.
In another crunch tie, Tusker FC in which Ugandans Nyanzi Makumbi and Allan Katerega plies their trade will be taking on Western Stima at Moi International Stadium, Kasarani.
Tusker FC currently sits third on the 16 team log on 55 points just two behind leaders AFC Leopards and one below Gor Mahia.
The KPL title race remains a three horse race with Gor and Tusker remaining with two games while Leopards has just one.
On a Ugandan note, a number of Ugandans are involved in the race with Sserunkuma and Ivan Anguyo at Gor Mahia, Abbas Kiwalabye and Jimmy Bageya (AFC Leopards) and Nyanzi Makumbi and Allan Katerega (Tusker FC)
