Mandela National Stadium, Namboole – 6.00pm Live on SS9East

Rwanda will have eyes set on quarter finals when they take on Zanzibar in the second game of group ‘C’ at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole on Thursday evening.

The Amavubi won their group opener 2-0 against Malawi thanks to goals from Jean Baptiste Mugiraneza and Captain Haruna Niyonzimana and top the group with three points while Zanzibar boosts of a single point after drawing with Eritrea in their first game.

Rwanda Coach Mitcho Sredojevich is expected to maintain danger man Jean Claude Iranzi in the starting team despite withdrawing him in the first half in the Malawi game for what he described as a tactical change.

Skipper Haruna Niyinzimana and left full back Mwemere Ngirishuti who put up a man of the match performance in the win over Malawi will be key if Rwanda is to pick victory from the match.

On the other end, Amir Hamad Omar, Khamis Mcha Khamis and Twaha Mohamed will have to be at their best if Coach Salum Nassor’s side to get a decent result against Amavubi.

A win for Rwanda will automatically qualify them to the quarter finals even with a game in hand.
