The Uganda Cranes kept the rhythm. Nothing new other than a victory for the most successful team in the CECAFA region. They yet again collected a win. This time round, a 4-0 demolition of South Sudan – the new comers in the regional annual soccer piece at Namboole Stadium on Friday. It was just a perfect finish for the hosts’ group A matches but rather a bad exit for the South Sudan team.

Brian Umony started it all with a half volley on the 21st minute and he completed his brace six minutes from recess. In the second half, The Cranes returned in high gear with another from Robert Sentongo in the 47th minute. It all looked like the Cranes were done but no, their unending pressure n the South Sudanese backyard earned them a last gasp goal through Hamis Diego Kiiza in the 79th minute only to leave ardent fans on the edges of their seats.

The victory ensured that the Cranes finished top of group A with nine out of nine having scored six and conceded none. south Sudan bowed out of the tourney with scoring a goal or securing a point. The other groups will finalize their games on Saturday with matches shifted to KCCA grounds in Lugogo and Wankulukuku.
