FKF Cup 2012 winners Gor Mahia FC have submitted their initial squad list to the Confederation of Africa Football Association (CAF) for the 2013 Confederations Cup without Ugandan defender Israel Emuge.
The initial list however has only 21 players with four slots left for late registration according to K’Ogalo deputy general secretary Ronald Ngala who said that they expect Emuge and Brazilian acquisition Giovanni Rodriguez to be among the players to fill the slots before closure of submission by Tuesday January 15th.
“We expect to field Giovanni [Rodriguez] and Israel [Emuge] in the competition, but they are yet to arrive in the country.
It is a requirement that we must submit our final list of 25 players to CAF on Tuesday next week”, said Ngala to futaa.com
Israel Emuge joined Gor Mahia from Ugandan side Kiira Young FC and penned a two year deal with the side but is yet to arrive in Nairobi.
Ugandans Daniel “Mzee” Sserunkuma and Ivan Anguyo who scooped the Player of the year Award and defender of the year award in the 2012 Kenya Premier League respectively are included on the list.
Gor will take on Anse Reunion of Seychelles in the preliminary round-first leg on the weekend of February 15–17.
