If there is anything local body Uganda Cricket Association’s (UCA) should nurture and keep for long, then that should be their partnership with the Mehta Group.

The local body was on the receiving end on Thursday after the Mehta Group offered equipment to the senior national teams (men and women) at Lugogo.

“We are grateful to this timely support,” said UCA CEO Justine Ligyalingi.

The package, received by captains Naomi Kayondo and Davis Karashani, included kit bags, jerseys, pads, bats, gloves, balls to mention but a few.

In less than a year after bonding, UCA has kept on reaping and the future is certainly bright.

“We have kept our promise,” Mehta Group Director Khatau Hemnabh said after handing over the equipment.

The equipment is made by the same manufacturers who make Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR), according to Hemnabh .

Mehta Group masterminded the bringing of two coaches from KKR and they had a six-day session with the national teams.

KKR is a cricket franchise that won the fifth edition of the India Premier League last year after beating the Chennai Super Kings by five wickets.
