Six time Rwandan league champions Rayon Sport have completed the signing of Uganda Cranes midfielder duo of Mike Sserumaga and Johnson Bagoole ahead of the start of the second round of the Primus league scheduled for Feb 2.
Both Bagoole and Sserumaga will feature for Rayon Sport until the end of this season before both parties reach an agreement of signing a long term contract according to club secretary secretary general Oliver Gakwaya. Gakwaya confirmed the development by the close of the week.
He said, “We have signed both Bagoole and Sserumaga until the end of the season. After that, we will offer them a long term contract basing on their performance,” Ssserumaga, who has played for Police Jinja, KB Lions, Uganda Police F.C, Bunamwaya, Proline, URA, St George and Swedish giants Helsingborg,will be making his second appearance Rayon Sport following his stint way back in February 2011.
Bagoole, 27 years has previously played for several Ugandan clubs including KCC and Express before crossing to Rwanda’s APR during the 2010/11 and 2011/12 seasons but in 2010 he joined DR Congo AS Vita club after playing two seasons at the defunct Atraco FC. He has been clubless after being offloaded by APR last season.
Gakwaya also confirmed that the club has completed the international transfer certificate request from Fifa for the Burundian import Cedric Amissi who has spent the first leg without kicking a ball due to transfer complications. Rayon Sport, third on the Primus league standings with 25 points is bidding to win their first league title in seven years. They commence the second round with a tricky date away to Amagaju on Sunday.
