Rwanda Vs Uganda

Wednesday 6th, 2013 – Amahoro Stadium

Uganda Cranes and Amavubi of Rwanda renew their rivalry on Wednesday evening when the two sides clash in an international friendly match at Amahoro international stadium, Kigali.

Coach Bobby Williamson who named five new players in his squad for the game will be facing off with Coach Mitcho for the first time since the 2011 Cecafa Tusker Cup final which the Cranes edged on penalties following a 2-2 draw after 120 minutes.

The match will be used by the Cranes as a warm up ahead of the 2014 World Cup qualifier against Liberia in Monrovia next month and also give test to the home based player that will be tussling it out against Tanzania in the CHAN qualifiers in June.

All eyes will be on Gor Mahia FC striker Daniel Sserunkuma who will be making his debut after injury ruled him out of the 2012 Cecafa Tusker Cup squad.

The striker had a sensational 2012 season in Kenya finishing just a goal behind Kenya Premier League (KPL) top scorer John Baraza who netted 18 goals but also guided K’Ogalo to the FKF Cup.

Other new faces that will get their first test of national team football include SC Victoria University’s defender Savio Kabugo and KCC FC’s defensive rock Fahad Kawooya.
