The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has suspended Tunisian referee Slim Jdidi who officiated the semi-final tie between Ghana and Burkina Faso.
Jdidi made countless mistakes in the game won by the Stallions of Burkina Faso 3-2 on post match penalties to storm the finals of the 2013 edition.
Jdidi denied Burkina Faso a 5th minute penalty, disallowed an extra-time goal before sending off midfielder Jonathan Petroipa for a second bookable offence in the second period of extra time.
Burkina Faso went on to win the game 3-2 on post-match penalties after finishing 1-1 at the end of extra-time.
He becomes the second match official to be suspended by the soccer governing body from Nations Cup after Egyptian referee who handled the group D match between Nigeria and Zambia was also suspended following a dubious penalty he awarded to Zambia’s Chipolopolo.
