Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) has officially come out to blast and warn the media houses over reports linking the Cranes Head Coach, Robert “Bobby” Williamson to other foreign teams.

A local Ugandan daily had reported that the Kenyan Federation was strongly interested in the Scottish born coach services, something the Federation strongly refutes.

Rogers Mulindwa, the Federation’s publicist warned the media against publishing such reports that will distort the harmony in the Cranes’ camp ahead of the CHAN Championship and 2014 world cup qualifiers.

“Bobby is still serving a running football contract with FUFA. The Federation denies knowledge of such links and our employee too, refutes the same media reports. There are however, clear procedures within the FIFA statutes, known to both Uganda and Kenya incase a federation employee of this nature wishes shift places”, Mulindwa says.

He lashed out at the media for such reports. “ The Media is therefore advised to avoid such reports that may look divisionary from our current focus a head of the World Cup qualifiers engagements due next month”, he concludes.

Robert Williamson, a former manager at Scottish clubs Kilmarnock, Hibernian Plymouth Argyle and English side Chester City, has handled the Cranes since replacing Laszlo Csaba in August 2008.

The soft spoken tactician, who at one time was rumored to be needed by Ghana National team, has seen the Cranes through 35 engagements, registering 20 victories, 7 draws and 8 losses.
