Coton Sport Garua (Cameroon) Vs URA FC (Uganda)

Uganda’s representatives in the Orange Caf Champions League begin their quest for glory on Sunday afternoon when they face familiar opponents Coton Sport Garua of Cameroon in the first leg of the preliminary round.

Coach Paul Nkata’s side arrived in Cameroon on Thursday and are in high spirits ahead of the clash.

URA FC will be looking for its first away goal in Caf competitions but will draw inspiration from the goal less draw earned against Lesotho’s Correctional Services last year away from home; their best away result in history.

The tax collectors’ best performance was reaching the first round last year but lost to Mali’s Djoliba FC 2-0 at Namboole and couldn’t make the trip to Bamako for the return leg due to insurgency.

Nkata is expected to field Yasin Mugabi between the posts with Simeon Masaba and Allan Munaaba occupying the right and left fullback slots respectively.

At the heart of defence, either of Derrick Walulya or Sam Mubiru will partner Sam Ssenkomi.

In the centre of the pack, Oscar Agaba, Said Kyeyune and Osama Farouk are expected while Moses Feni Ali and Erisha Ssekisambu and Yayo Lutimba will be the front three to rely on for goals.

Coton Sport were 3-0 aggregate winners in 2008 when the two sides last met in this competition. The Cameroon side won the first leg 3-0 at home before holding the tax collectors to a barren draw at Namboole.

URA FC will be out to avoid a repeat of the result.

URA FC Probable X1:

Yasin Mugabi (GK), Simeon Masaba, Sam Mubiru, Sam Ssenkomi, Allan Munaaba, Oscar Agaba, Osama Farouk, Moses Feni Ali, Said Kyeyune, Yayo Lutimba and Erisha Ssekisambu.
