Ruvu Shooting 0-1 Yanga
Yanga FC extended their lead at the top of the Tanzania Vodacom Premier League (TVPL) after shooting down Ruvu Shooting with a 1-0 victory at the National Stadium, Dar es Salaam.
Uganda Cranes striker Hamis ‘Diego’ Kiiza was the hero on the day scoring the only goal of the game to ensure the visitors picked maximum points from the tie.
The win extends Yanga’s lead at the top ahead of Azam FC who were not in action over the weekend due to Caf Confederations Cup engagements.
Yanga now leads the log on 45 points eight above second placed Azam FC who are on 37 points but the latter have a game in hand. The Cecafa Kagame Cup Champions have played 20 games while Azam have 19.
Former KCC FC and Supersport United striker Brian Umony plays for Azam FC.
This was Kiiza’s last game before he links up with the national team for preparations ahead of the 2014 World Cup qualifier against Liberia on March 24.
