Entebbe Parents and Entebbe SS, crashed out in one of the most cheered quarterfinal matches of the weeklong annual 2013 Entebbe Zone Coca-Cola post primary qualification tourney that was held at Works play grounds in Entebbe. The game played on Monday 18th- March-2013 at 3:00pm saw deployment of Entebbe police to ensure maximum safety.
The two teams exposed open play game and the first and most entertaining moment coming in the 32nd minute when Mayugo Frank’s free kick from the left frank was miss-calculated by Entebbe SS custodian who also collided with his rightful defender to send Entebbe Parents in lead. 7 minutes later Suuna Dan restored parity for his side before FUFA referee a one Ronnie called for 1st half whistle.
The two teams settled for a barren second half and Ronnie opted for penalty kick outs to determine who precedes which Entebbe Parents won by 5-3.
In the other entertaining goal-goal game, Entebbe Creamland School that had a young side and most talented as many said, earned a humiliation 3-1lose from hardy Victoria SS. A Sulaiman Ali brace 7 minutes to the end of 2nd half helped his side (Victoria SS) proceed to the next level.
In the earliest game played on the night Entebbe Kings’s 1-0 win over Kisubi High was enough for them to book place for semifinals where they will meet Victoria SS thanks to Kalemba Tom 10 minutes strike.
Kintu Steven, the Entebbe Kings head coach is confident for his team to storm finals minus any serious resistance. “I don’t think they (Victoria SS) will give me hard time, because they play child-ship football”. The wordy Kintu Steven said. “My team is capable of and has to win it all” He added.
In today’s semifinals that will be played at Entebbe SS grounds near the shores of Lake Victoria, Entebbe Kings will take on Victoria in the early fixture while Entebbe Parents will have to wait the winner between Air Force VS Kennedy SS quarterfinal game that was called off yesterday.
Talking to Kawowo Sports, the tourney’s chairperson technical, Tumuhimbise Event, confirmed that the finals will be played on Wednesday 20th and he understands that they are having a well organized tournament ever before. “This year’s edition is the best of all. “We are doing our best and think all will go well as planned, thanks to my colleagues”.
But rumor had it that the edition is the worst ever. The two finalists teams (Schools) will represent the Zone on Wakiso district level earlier next month
