Bright Stars have been awarded 3 points and 3 goals by the FUFA Competitions Committe. This follows Iganga Town Council’s failure to honour their FUFA Big league fixture at Kawanda Research grounds last week.

“We had no alternative but to follow the constitutional laws of the federation,” said the committee chairperson, Issa Magoola, who also doubles as Iganga’s Chairman.

The decision means Brights Stars, who are now on 34 points, regain their Rwenzori group table leadership status from Soana (31) with games to play apiece. On the other hand, Iganga has been docked of 6 points for forfeiting the game without genuine reasons. This condemns this former super division side to linger deep in the relegation zone in the 9th position with just 10 points from 16 outings.

In a related development, Bright Stars will have to play their remaining two games minus the services of their inspirational captain, Muwanga, Yakubu Ramathan, Kakembo Geofrey, Mwesigya Wycliff and Male Allan Robert who were all implicated in the Match Commissioner’s report to have attacked a referee during their bloody encounter with Soana a fortnight ago at kavumba Recreational Stadium.

Rwenshama were awarded 3 points and 4 goals after their encounter with Kasese Youth was abandoned prematurely at the 89th minute mark at Nyakasanga Stadium. The game was tied 4 all by the time of the abandonment.

“The aggrieved parties are free to appeal to the FUFA Displinary Committee,” Decolas Kiiza, the Competitions Secretary told Kawowo Sports.
