The petitions to throw out the leaders in the Uganda Hockey Association and Uganda Lawn Tennis Association have been thrown out by  National Council of Sports.
The two associations will go to the polls tomorrow at on April 20 respectively as earlier organised.
This is after the National Council of Sports (NCS) Board chairman Bosco Onyik directed the technical committee to stay all the petitions that had been filed at NCS by parallel federation members and leave the assemblies to be held.
“Yes I have directed the General Secretary and the technical committee to stay all these petitions and first leave their respective federation organs to sort out themselves and its only if they fail that we can intervene,” Onyik confirmed the development.
“What we have observed is that people will look at us as if we are interfering with Federation work and I wonder why these groups petitioning wait at the last hour then they start petitioning the errors that has been there for a long time, ” Onyik queried.
Early this month a group of Lawn Tennis players led by Arthur Ssegawa an aspiring candidate for the top Association’s post petitioned NCS claiming foul play by the incumbent executive.
This was followed by another group of Hockey players who also petitioned NCS to stop their assembly accusing chairman Danstun Nsubuga of foul play.
