University teams in the Airtel National Basketball League will be playing a home and away basis ahead of the season that swings into action tomorrow at Lugogo Arena.
This is was revealed today by the president of the Federation of Uganda Basketball Association Ambrose Tashobya at Lugogo stadium this morning.
“The university teams will host games at their respective grounds with home advantage,” Tashobya said at the press conference. “The federation is doing this to take the game of basketball to the people.”
The teams include Uganda Christian University, Kyambogo University, Ndejje University, Kampala International University, Nkumba University, Victoria University and Makerere University.
For the first time the league will have the university teams playing each other as they seek to spread the game of basketball round the country.
The Airtel National Basketball League swings into action tomorrow with KCC Leopards taking on A-1 Challenge in the opening game of the season in the ladies Division 1 opener then 2011 FUBA league champions D-Mark Power will tussle out with newly promoted City Oilers in the Men’s division 1.
