From the look of things, it be hard to beat Wanderers in the on-going National Women’s 50-Over League.
The side remained invincible yet again as they beat Jinja Associaton of Cricket Clubs (JACC) by 111 runs at the university oval in Kyambogo on Saturday to keep their 100% record in three games.
“This marginal victory has moved another miles closer to the title,” an elated Wanderers captain Kevin Apio said.
“We just want to keep the momentum.” Apio added.
Mary Nanderenga’s 87-run knock and Naomi Kayondo’s 37 runs firmly backed Apio’s decision to bat as they set 172 runs in 35.5 overs after Janet Mbabazi’s six-wicket haul.
Kayondo, Immaculate Nakisuuyi and Hope Wanichan snared a wicket apiece as JACC replied with only 61 runs in 24.3 overs.
At Lugogo Oval, former national team skipper Barbra Mukankusi hit 32 runs while Charity team captain Scovia Akello added 25 amidst Gloria Adubu’s 3/21 and Concy Aweko’s 2/15 as Charity beat Tornado by 34 runs. Tornado is yet to win in three games.
Wanderers 172/10 JACC 61/10
