Cranes midfielder Tonny Mawejje carried his goal scoring form from national team to club as he scored IBV Vestmannaeyja’s only goal in the 1-1 draw away to Valur Reykjavik in the Iceland Premier League on Tuesday evening.

The midfield gem gave the visitors the lead in the 44th minute before Karason leveled matters for the hosts in the 66th minute.

It was Mawejje’s third goal in three consecutive matches after he scored Uganda’s winners in the 1-0 and 2-1 win over Liberia and Angola in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers and his fourth of the season for both club and country.

The former Masaka LC and KCC FC star had earlier scored for his club in the 4-1 victory over Breidablik.

The point he earned for his club moved it to sixth on the 12 team log with 12 points from seven games played.

Reacting to his goal scoring form, Mawejje posted on his facebook timeline; “Only GOD can stop me!!….scoring 4 my club again made it 3 in 3 matches in a row”.

Provided he maintains this form till September, Mawejje will be inspirational for the Cranes when they face Senegal in a must win group J decider.
