Training Tour (South Africa)

The Uganda Senior men’s national cricket team has been officially flagged off for a 10 day training programme in South Africa. The brief ceremony conducted by Jasper Aligawesa and other Council members took place at the main premises of the National Council of Sports Head offices in Lugogo at midday on Friday.

 They are set to play three Limited Overs (50-overs) and six Twenty20 matches in preparation for the ICC Global World T20 Qualifier scheduled for UAE this November.

Then in January 2014, they will engage in the ICC World Cup Qualifiers to be hosted by New Zealand.

“We are a blessed group in Uganda for uch a unique training programme outside Uganda. We shall improve on all our weak areas particularly batting”, team captain, Davis Karashani remarked at the a special Friday midday flag off ceremony organized for the team at the National Council of Sports.

Coach Johan Rudolph’s boys will try to put out their best in the 10 days of intensive training and polish a few aspects of their game.
