It was a good weekend for most Ugandan players who ply their trade across the borders. Hamis Kiiza and Dan Sserunkuma maintained their scoring form while Bruno Sserunkuma and Aucho Khalid also got on the score sheet for their respective clubs as Kawowo Sports’ Ismael Kiyonga reports;

Aucho Khalid, Martin Kizza (Tusker FC – Kenya):

Ex-Ugandan U-20 midfielder Aucho Khalid scored for Tusker FC in the Kenya Premier League despite his side’s 3-2 loss to Nairobi City Stars. Martin Kiiza was also part of the Tusker team.

Bruno Sserunkuma, Joel Ssebuliba & Jimmy Bageya (Nairobi City Stars – Kenya):

Bruno Sserunkuma bagged a brace for Nairobi City Stars in the 3-2 win over Champions Tusker FC in the Kenya Premier League. The striker netted the first goal for City Stars in the 26th minute before scoring the winner in the 80th minute. Jimmy Bageya and Joel Ssebuliba were other Ugandans involved in the City squad.

Daniel ‘Mzee’ Sserunkuma (Gor Mahia – Kenya):

Uganda Cranes striker Daniel Sserunkuma was the hero for Bobby Williamson’s Gor Mahia FC after netting the solitary goal to earn K’Ogalo valuable three points over Chemelil Sugars. The diminutive centre forward scored an 8th minute penalty.

Mustapha Kasolo, Johnson Bagoole (Sofapaka – Kenya):

Ex-Masaka LC striker Mustapha Kasolo and URA FC midfield gem Johnson Bagoole featured for Sam Timbe’s Sofapaka but could only manage a goalless draw against Sony Sugars in the KPL.

Hamis ‘Diego’ Kiiza (Yanga – Tanzania):

Cranes striker Hamis Kiiza made it two goals in as many games for Young Africans this season after he scored the winner in the 1-0 triumph over Ruvu Shootings in the Vodacom Premier League.

Joseph Owino & Abel Dhaira (Simba SC – Tanzania):

Ex- URA FC duo of Joseph Owino and Abel Dhaira were in top form as Simba SC brushed away JKT Ruvu in the Vodacom Premier league to maintain top spot.

Aziz Kemba & Tonny Mawejje (IBV Vestmannaeyja – Iceland):

For the third consecutive time, Aziz Kemba and Tonny Mawejje were on the losing side as their Iceland side IBV Vestmannaeyja lost 2-1 to Thor in the Iceland Premier League.
