Better times await the Uganda volleyball fraternity particularly so, that more and more sponsors, working partners are getting more attracted to the sport.
Cinepex Cinemas has joined the ever escalating number of partners with the Uganda Volleyball Federation (UVF). The movie gurus have on Monday announced a long term bilateral partnership with the federation, especially as regards the National women side, the Lady Cranes, during a special press briefing that took place at the Nakumatt Cinplex premises in Kampala.
“Cineplex Cinemas is proud to be associated with Uganda Volleyball Federation (UVF) and their efforts in bringing more attention to the sport We shall support activities such as these which empower our nations’ youth, positively”nurture and bolster natural talent”, Marion Busingye, the company’s director told the media.
This coming Wednesday, a special build up game between the national team and a select side has been organised at the MTN Lugogo Arena,whose entrance will be 3000/= per head, with all the proceeds going back to the team.
“This build up game will be our last competitive game and besides building confidence,it will surely help us polish up a few areas that need urgent address like our service reception and defending as well”, the team head tactician, Tonny Peter Lakony revealed to Kawowo Sports about the significance of the Wednesday game.
The Volleyball Cranes, who resumed training last Friday at the International School of Uganda (ISU) will be out to test the different systems and player partnership.
The select side will have the likes of Jesica Kaidu, Jackie Achieng, Vivian Adeke, Peace Busingye among others, all of whom will try to prove a point or two to Uganda’s team that has of late held a two week’s training camp in Groningen, Holland, where they played 7 competitive games with the Dutch Select sides and divisional teams.
Besides advertising and promoting the game on their various platforms, Cineplex also offered 20 tickets to the winner of the Wednesday encounter to watch the latest movies this Valentines season (offer valid up to 14th March 2014).
Cineplex joins SN Brussels Airlines, who offered the 14 return air tickets when the team was going to Holland and Oteka Media group, the major group targeting the publicity and awareness drives of the team among and International School of Uganda as the major partners who have aided the team’s preparations.
The Uganda Volleyball lady Cranes are preparing for the final phase of the World Volleyball Championships in Italy where the continental last bend of qualification will take place in Kenya with hosts, Kenya, Tunisia, Senegal, Mozambique, Cape Verde and Seychelles.
The Top team will qualify for the World Championships after the round robin tournament.
