2009 and 2013 Uganda Open Golf Champion, Peter Ssendaula has expressed his willingness to rejoin the game’s professional ranks.

“Yes, i submitted in my papers to the concerned authorities. I would wish to join the professional ranks once again”, Ssendaula has revealed to Kawowo Sports.

The handicapp 1 player, who had won the most prestigious golfing event on the local calendar in 2009 briefly joined the paid ranks before he called it quits citing financial constraints among other factors.

“Actually, when i look at the amateur level, it is more expensive to play as an amateur than a pro in Uganda today”, the Entebbe based golfer, who has just returned from the Asian Tour added.

Every winner of the Uganda Open automatically earns a go to turning professional. Ssendaula’s application now awaits the approval of Uganda Golf Professionals body. Once granted the green light, he is expected to re-start the professional duties on ‘home soil’, at the Entebbe Ladies’ Golf Open which is due to be played on the 7th and 8th March 2014.
