According to Uganda Lacrosse Union’s Maurice Sserunkuma, this particular tournament’s success stood out as major pillar to the Union’s campaign of expanding the sport of lacrosse to the U19 and U22 categories.

“We didnt have the people who fit into the U19 and U22 categories but right now, we have embarked on a campaign to expand the sport, and qualify for international tournaments,”he said.

Meanwhile, Uganda is finalising its preparations to take to the Federation of International Lacrosse World Championship in Denver, Colorado, the national team featuring as the first participating African team for the quadrennial event, due 10th to 19th July.
