African athletes that will be taking part in the Africa Cross Country Championship slated for this Sunday at Kololo Independence ground will have their thirst quenched by Aqua Sipi.

Mukwano Group of Companies through its Aqua Sipi water, has offered 4,800 bottles of water to Uganda Athletics Federation for the 400 athletes from 32 African countries that will be taking part in this African event.

“Aqua Sipi, the drink of champions is proud to continue associating with athletics and champions from 32 African countries that have gathered in Kampala to compete in this race,” Tony Gadhoke, the Mukwano Group Chief Executive Officer said at the hand over at their head office in Industrial Area. “The brand does not only passively support sports but actively participates in football in the Corporate league, golf which I play and boxing where our staff Hudson Muhumuza is a professional boxer.”

Uganda Athletics Federation is hosting the biggest event on their local calendar and are using it as a stepping stone to host the 2015 IAAF World Cross Country Championship.

“We are extremely grateful for this gesture as this is one of the biggest events on our calendar our relationship with Mukwano Industries is very deep rooted after selecting Uganda’s Olympic and World Marathon Champion Stephen Kiprotich, as their brand ambassador,” Apollo Musherure, the UAF assistant secretary said at the hand over. ” This African event will give us an opportunity to showcase our athletics talent to the whole world and to the continent.”
