FSL Week 23 Results:
KCC 1 – 0 Masaka L.C
CRO 0 – 0 Vipers
SCVU 1 – 0 Express
SC Villa 1 – 0 Simba
Soana 0 – 1 Bul- Bidco
Only 4 goals were scored in the 5 Fufa Super league fixtures played on match day 23. Incidentally, there were 3 home victories, one away win and a barren draw, that proved to be the shocker.
Table leaders, Vipers were shocked in Mbale as they played to a non scoring draw to bottom placed CRO. Vipers now have 44 points from 23 games, 3 better than second placed URA. URA was not involved in action.
Defending champions, KCC, inspired by a Tony Odur strike won 1 – 0 at their Phillip Omondi arena in Lugogo over Masaka L.C, to accumulate 40 points (from 20 games). 4 teams, Sports Club Victoria University (SCVU), Bul Bidco, Kira Young and Soana are joint third (all on 39 points apiece).
Noah Ssemakula’s 34th minute goal for SCVU won the day over Express. Bul f.c needed a 90th minute strike to topple home side, Soana at Kavumba whereas Karim Ndugwa won it for Villa over Kajoba – less Simba football club.
Kajoba started his 5 match ban off the Simba bench after a ruling by the FUFA super league board over his role in the abandonment of the game at Wankulukuku Stadium.
Kajoba, who is also Uganda Cranes’ goal keeping coach, was also fined Ug. shs 750.000 to which he reacted bitterly as he openly attacked the board that suspended him, accusing it of bias among other issues.
Action of the FUFA super league resumes on Tuesday, 1st April 2014 with 4 games on the menu.
