FUFA Big league Results:

Baza Holdings 0-1 The Saints

Ngora Fredda 1-0 Sadolin Paints

Kirinya Jinja SS 2-0 Busia utd

Ronald Musana’s beautiful strike at the sunrise of the game ensured The Saints F.C leave the Villa Park grounds with all the 3 points in the bag after overcoming a hard fighting Baza Holdings in one of the 4 FUFA big league games played on Holy Saturday.

In a very physical battle played on a very soggy ground after an overnight down pour, the two sides kicked off the match with virtually the same mission at hand – to ensure the 3 points lest avoid any sort of defeat.

The visitors, perhaps implemented the agenda as they mounted pressure on Baza Holdings in the game’s opening stages and it was not suprising when Musana, a former SC Villa player broke the deadlock with an early finish cool finish past goalie, Godfrey Wakabu.

The rest of the game witnessed different raids from the two sides but no further score was recorded as the match ended 1 – 0.

The victory for The Saints grants Lweza the advantage to reclaim top spot of the Rwenzori group should they win their game in hand (over Gulu University) on Monday.

Meanwhile, Baza Holdings remain to with 38 points while The Saints consolidate third place with 30 points.

In the other games played, Ngora Fredda Carr subjected Sadolin Paints to their first loss of the season with a 1 – 0 victory in Kumi. (Sadolin paints already qualified for the top flight football next season).

Kirinya/ Jinja s.s won 2 – 0 over visiting Busia United. Joseph Wakitaka scored a brace to help the Jinja based team secure the 3 points that keep them in the running for the two available play off slots.

The FUFA big league resumes on Easter Monday when Lweza, who lost 1 – 2 to KCC in the Uganda Cup on Saturday host Gulu University at the Kajjansi play grounds.

2 sides (one apiece from Rwenzori and Elgon groups) will qualify directly at the end of the regular season.

The 1st and 2nd runners up from each of the two groups will be engaged in a one legged semi final play off at a neutral ground before the final will be played to have the 3rd best side to be promoted to the FUFA Super league of the 2014/15 season.
