The Rugby Cranes are set to face 2014 Bamburi Rugby Super Series franchise, Hima Rwenzori, in a second trial match at Kyadondo Rugby Grounds ahead of the Confederation of Africa Rugby (CAR) tier 1B tournament due June 10-14 in Tunisia.

Cranes beat Victoria Protectors 51-12 last weekend, a 2014 Bamburi Rugby Super Series that crushed out of the tournament after losing two matches in a row.

Hima Rwenzori look foward to this cranes encounter this Saturday at 4.00pm, ahead of their Bamburi Rugby match next Saturday, May 24 in Nakuru, Kenya against Kenyan Universities’ franchise Kifaru.

Rwenzori is the most successful Bamburi Rugby franchise having reached the finals in 2011 and last year, a final they lost to Kenya’s Ndovu 24-18.

Rugby Cranes’ senior players were dropped including Alex Mubiru, Ronald Adigas and Robert Seguya as the Rugby Union develops a youthful side to compete in the 2019 Rugby World Cup qualifiers.
