2nd Leg U-17 Africa Qualifier:

Uganda Cubs Vs Scheyelles

Sat, 28th June 2014

At Nakivubo Stadium

Uganda National under 17 football team skipper, Andrew Okiring Isiagi has saluted his teammates for the team work effort that saw them leave Victoria City Unity Stadium with an away 2 -1 victory.

Collective Responsibility:

Isiagi, a S.5 student of Carlise in the United States, has attributed the Cubs away victory to every sqaudsman and the technical department of the team.

“Surely, the credit goes to everybody, its very difficult to single out who did what and how. We were all one unit and that is exactly how we managed to do it”, the eloquent skipper revealed to Kawowo Sports upon the team’s arrival at Entebbe International Airport on Tuesday night.

Uganda’s away goals in Schyelles came from Charles Ssebutinde and Pius Obuya.

The team was driven straight away to the Njeru artifical turf where they had been camping prior the first leg.

They are now preparing for the return leg set for the 28th June 2014 at Nakivubo Stadium.

Head Coach, Matia Lule was happy with the team’s performance away.

“We managed a win away but the onus is now on the boys to maintain the form and register a positive result at home to ensure qualification to another phase”, Lule said.

The winner will face Rwanda at the next qualification stage. Should Uganda over come Rwanda, then the last hurdle to the U-17 finals in Niger will be Zambia.
