ARS Season IV National Finals:

Dates: 26th – 30th June 2014

In Fort Portal (Boma Buhinga & St Leo’s Kyegobe grounds)

As the national finals of the Airtel Rising stars come knocking, it will be an epic clash as the tourney’s defending champions, Kampala drew nemesis Buganda in both genders.

The draws were conducted at the FUFA House in Mengo on Wednesday.

“It is a great atmosphere to see rival teams open up. We believe it will be a great match to watch”, Benard Egwel, the chairman, national organizing committee of the Airtel Rising Stars football tourney told Kawowo Sports.

Kampala will open up with Buganda in the boy’s opening group B match.

Hosts, Kitara region open up their matches in group A with a date against West Nile.

Girls’ U-17 Groups:

Kampala still drew Buganda in group A of the girls’ catergory, alongside defending champions, Western and Western Nile.

Western region will open up with West Nile in the opening game.

In group B, Kitara region, will open up the tourney with Eastern region while Northern region and North East complete the other two teams in group B.

Format of draws:

The draws, spurheaded by the head of FUFA Competitions department, Ali Mwebe were conducted in such a way that the defending champions of either gender were seeded alongside the hosts, Kitara.

The best 18 players from either gender will be selected to represent team Uganda at the Gabon Africa Airtel training Tournament where Arsenal coaches will be in attendance.

Girls:

GROUP A: Western, West Nile, Kampala and Buganda

GROUP B: Kitara, Eastern, Northern and North East

Boys:

GROUP A: Kitara, West Nile, North East and Northern

GROUP B: Kampala, Buganda, Eastern and Western
