MUK Sparks Vs KIU Rangers 6:30pm
Ndejje Angels Vs Tiger Head Power 8:30pm
Each time you watch Tiger Head Power practice, you are almost convinced that their next opponents are going down and quite easily but it has not been the case. In fact only Nkumba Marines – whose final destination could be Division 1 – have been slapped silly by Power (3-2). The other wins required a lot of grit and steel. Inconsistency is an understatement for with such personnel.
The five-time champions will be back on the floor of YMCA this evening to take on Ndejje University Angels – who themselves have gotten off a rough start compared to what they looked like and promised last season yet much has not changed in terms of personnel.
Angels (2-3) have dropped the last two games – understandably to Falcons in their last outing and Nsambya side Sharing Youths two weeks ago. There is no cohesion in the team. The 2012 regular season MVP Geoffrey Soro has to get more touches on the ball. Promising Jonah Otim is not getting significant contributions from the teammates. Walker Obed will need the Jeasle Mony that turned up against Falcons on the night when almost every Angel struggled.
Ndejje’s backcourt has to have more sticky hands tonight. They don’t have to commit 36 turnovers against Power to get swamped. Another set of slippery hands means more trouble for the university side.
Power players have it in themselves that another lackluster performance is something Bernice Akunda can’t take let alone the fans who anticipated a flying season after the unveiling of new additions prior to its start.
In the women’s division, MUK Sparks who were on the receiving end of UCU’s century take on KIU Rangers whose confidence is sky high after dispatching KCCA Leopards the last time out. Rangers saw off Sparks 65-43 in the first meeting between the teams and the result in this rescheduled game will most likely go KIU’s way.
